Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

[Acne] Is this from the retina-a/arazlo? - I started to gradually build my retin-a or arazlo usage from every 3 or so days to every other to every day to help my persistent acne. I have no dryness or redness. BUT my acne is 10x worse, my self esteem is terrible and I am waking up with swollen eyelids. No new products. No retinol product is going on or near my eyes. I haven’t had clear skin since my pregnancy. I am so upset. What can I do? Worth continuing the retinol? Why are my eyes (or, I should say around my eyes) swollen every morning? Will I ever stop purging?

Tretinoin can irritate the thin skin around the eyes, and its official label says to keep it away from the eyes and the creases beside the nose. But unusually severe focal orbital or eye-area pain after light contact should not be attributed online to “skin thinning” or nerves moving closer to the surface. For now, stop applying tretinoin or the newly added product on or close to the eyelids and orbital rim, and contact the tretinoin prescriber promptly with the exact location, duration and severity of the pain. Do not try to treat deep eye-area pain by adding more moisturizers or active ingredients. If a product entered the eye, rinse with clean lukewarm water and seek advice if symptoms persist.

[Misc] DARK SPOT AFTER TRETINOIN - DERMATITIS - # Looking for advice on a dark spot left after dermatitis flare-up For some background, I have atopic dermatitis, and I had a couple of flare-ups around the time I started using tretinoin. The dermatitis also appeared on my eyelids, where the skin became very dry and had this kind of exfoliated/peeling appearance. I’ll attach a picture below. After the first flare-up, I stopped pretty much all of my skincare and only used moisturizer occasionally. It’s been almost a year since then, and although the dermatitis itself has cleared up, I’m still left with this dark spot under my lip. It has changed color over time — it was more brownish at first — but it just won’t go away. I’ve seen quite a few similar posts where people say to just be patient and use sunscreen and that it will eventually fade, but after almost a year I’m starting to get a little worried. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is it normal for pigmentation like this to take this long to fade, or should I get it checked by a dermatologist? Nobody has ever even called the spot out or said anything about it because it is barely visible without really looking deeply at it (i suggest zooming in) but it is really bothering me. For reference, my skincare routine before all of this was: * Cleanser * Hyaluronic acid * Niacinamide * Moisturizer * SPF 50 Any other help regarding my other skin issues would be helpful since i struggle with rosacea and overall bad skin quality and texture.

UPDATE: I went to urgent care, and their dermatologist prescribed me a cortisone cream and to continue using vaseline and the very basic cerave daily moisturizing lotion i have been using. he also told me it might get better within 8-10 days, so here’s hoping thats true! This morning, it got horrendously worse, pretty similar to the first image but burning intensely around my entire face and even coming close to my eyelids. it is very red and tender and much more similar to a severe sunburn. The dermatologist said that it most likely started as overexfoliation and then a bad sunburn which was exacerbated by actives and not treating it right. i appreciate all of the product suggestions and sympathy people have shared, but i will be sticking to what the dermatologist told me as I very much do not want to risk any new irritation or possible allergies. I will give an update as to how the cortisone cream goes. thank you everyone!
