   Glad to hear you have some protective headgear for boxing! I personally use the red color correcting green tint EltaMD (x) but browse around for what you think would work best with your specific skin type. I alternate between that and a tinted sunscreen from Paula's Choice (x) as I have issues with superficial redness and find that they both help in evening my skin tone out, but is subtle enough to avoid makeup accusations (I'm also male; not against makeup on guys but it just isn't my style). The green tint is VERY subtle and doesn't actually impart a green shade to your face (speaking as someone very pale) it just lessens redness. For BHA options, I really only recommend Paula's Choice BHA (x) as it is kind of the industry gold standard for BHA products, basically put BHA exfoliants on the map. Super simple ingredients list, really great price for how long the bottle lasts, properly pH balanced, and has years and years of backing. I think CosRX has a BHA too but I can't remember. Retinoids are known for not only being an ingredient powerhouse but also for being rather irritating, which is kind of tied into their function. They can increase redness, flakiness, irritate the skin (kind of a low grade stinging), and increase photosensitivity. If you are putting your skin through the ringer of frequent washing or exposure to hot water, you could already be stressing out your skins moisture barrier. Retinoids can be harsh on compromised skin barriers and then can sort of create this feedback loop of compromised skin > apply retinoids > skin becomes more irritated. That said, retinoids as a class have varying strength (accutane/tretinoin being the most nuclear, retinyl palmitate being the most gentle) and retinol is on the lower end of strength so your skin could totally be fine. It is just my opinion that a BHA would probably be a better option for your current lifestyle, and it still has anti-aging benefits alongside being gentle, helping with creating even skin tone, and being really nice for people who shave too. You can feel free to stick with retinol as it is a good ingredient generally speaking, but using vit C and sunscreen you're already doing a lot of anti aging heavy lifting so a low concentration retinoid may have less rewards for the risks retinoids \*can\* sometimes carry in people with compromised skin barriers.

   Kinda surprised skincare brands never thought about gymbros before [Misc] - It’s always shocked me how almost no skincare advertisements are geared towards straight men. They have spent decades thinking of new insecurities to profit off of and never once thought about the guy whos day is ruined when his delt looks alittle bad and reads pubmed articles on how to optimize his aesthetics (gymbro speaking). There are a ton of men now getting into skincare and all it took was changing the jargon to make it less ostracized and making guides geared towards them (looksmaxing). I think we are going to see a lot more skincare ads geared towards men and some product line that’s exactly the same as normal just with “for men” on it (reverse pink tax) EDIT- to make this clear I understand male skincare is bigger in east Asia and there are skincare lines geared towards men already, but at least in the US they definitely didn’t understand how to market it correctly. I always felt they would have had better success if they marketed it like razors instead of just like female skincare if that makes sense. Like get an athlete or something.

   [Sun Care] What mineral sunscreen is best for me? - I’m a guy with facial hair and I’m trying to find a mineral sunscreen that doesn’t leave residue in my facial hair and isn’t greasy. I’ve tried chemical sunscreens from olive young and they all burn my eyes and irritate my skin.

   [Sun Care] low effort sun protection routine - I am pale as can be and would like to integrate a suncare routine into my everyday life. I hate sunscreen because of the feel and how it inevitably gets on clothes, especially around the collar of t-shirts. That's the Reason why haven't been using it as much asi certainly should and want to change that. live in Germany and would be very thankful for any advice on products (preferably cheap of course) or routines that could use everyday to get a basic level of sun protection, especially around the neck, face and hand area. I'm a guy so naturally don't really have a skin care routine at the moment. Thanks in advance!
