Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

[Product request] Red skin around nose - Does anyone know what this is? I did some research and tried Selsun Blue (selenium sulfide 1%) and it stung and made things worse. I've practically done no zero skincare in my life and this redness has been with me for a long long time. Also I am sucking in my lips as the redness is most visible that way. Also kinda curious how pore-y my nose is compared to normal

The cleanser you selected will be fine, it will work for your oily skin type, but a gel cleanser that contains salicylic acid will be more effective for the oil and acne. IMO I think you should use the LRP salicylic acid cleanser. The moisturizer is great. You can use it day and night if you want, but personally I have oily/acne prone skin as well, and I find that sunscreen alone is enough for me in the morning. But you can certainly use moisturizer and sunscreen if you want to. But definitely always use the moisturizer at night. I’ve not used the sunscreen you selected, but it seems like a lightweight variety for oily skin and is SPF30, so that’s great. The only other thing I would suggest for your routine is a retinoid to use at night after cleaning, before moisturizing. A retinoid will help reduce acne, smooth the skin, even skin tone, reduce redness or dark spots from past acne marks, etc. if you’re in the US, I suggest Differin gel OTC. If outside the us ROC retinol is great. Start every other night and work up to using it nightly.

Maybe try azelic acid!! It helps so much with redness and inflamation, and helps with those small whiteheads. My routine at this point is just facewash, azelic acid, and moisterizer. If you go to a derm you can get a prescription strength that will work best for u (but u can also get it from brands like inkey list or the ordinary)

Have you tried a cica cream for the redness? I find it to be very calming.

  5. Comment

That's pretty normal for going from 2x to 3x a week too fast on differin, especially combined with a daily active like azelaic acid every single morning - ur skin barrier just hasn't caught up yet. I'd drop differin back down to 2x a week for now and let the redness/peeling calm down before increasing again, sometimes the timeline just needs to be slower than we want it to be. Also check if the polypeptide cream has any actives in it since that could be adding to the irritation too. Once things settle, sandwich method (moisturizer, wait, then the active) helps a lot with tolerance around the eyes and mouth specifically.
