   i went to the urgent care dermatologist and they gave me a cortisone cream, it’s helped SO much. please do NOT do any masks or anything. the dermatologist told me the only 2 things i had that i should be using were Cerave daily moisturizizing lotion for normal to dry skin, and vaseline. do NOT use sunscreen or aloe vera, it made it worse. i wont lie the dermatologist is not cheap, im just lucky i could go with a small copay. please please stay out of the sun and just reapply moistuizer and vaseline a bunch of times throughout the day and stay inside. it’s slowly getting better and the dermatologist said with those steps ans the cortisone they gave me it’ll hopefully be better in a week or two. really cannot overstate how helpful the cream the prescribed me was for the pain and redness, now it just looks like i have a slight sunburn. please be careful!

   Don’t mess with it don’t pick at it. try warm compress 20 minutes at night before bed or after a shower when your skin is clean, just get a rag and get hot water from the sink ring most of the water out and then just press it gently on the mass You can do this a few times a day if you have the time, see if it helps if not, I would go to urgent care or like the emergency room straight up and if you go to the emergency room, social work should automatically file for State health insurance Or you could apply for state health insurance online unless you’re making over 35 or 40,000 a year I don’t know what New York State threshold is for max yearly income for State health insurance

   UPDATE: I went to urgent care, and their dermatologist prescribed me a cortisone cream and to continue using vaseline and the very basic cerave daily moisturizing lotion i have been using. he also told me it might get better within 8-10 days, so here’s hoping thats true! This morning, it got horrendously worse, pretty similar to the first image but burning intensely around my entire face and even coming close to my eyelids. it is very red and tender and much more similar to a severe sunburn. The dermatologist said that it most likely started as overexfoliation and then a bad sunburn which was exacerbated by actives and not treating it right. i appreciate all of the product suggestions and sympathy people have shared, but i will be sticking to what the dermatologist told me as I very much do not want to risk any new irritation or possible allergies. I will give an update as to how the cortisone cream goes. thank you everyone!

   Curious what the urgent care does, but be sure to give them a detailed explanation of what you applied to your skin and when. Kind of seems like you have runaway irritation and I wonder if they give you a corticosteroid cream for a few days.

   i’m a little hesitant since i’ve been trying so many new things on my skin, but i have an appointment with urgent care shortly and if they suggest it i’ll report back.
