Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

The title matters less than the scope. A founding engineer who ships and owns architecture is usually what you need first; a real CTO is a people and strategy role that only pays off once there are engineers to manage. Hire for the bottleneck you have today, and let the title follow the scope rather than the reverse. The founders who get burned usually hand a CTO title to a strong IC who then has no team to lead and no interest in hiring.

An intern isn't going to audit the architecture you built with Claude Code, that's a senior job. On a 3 month contract budget the second Max subscription really is the better buy.

  3. Comment

I think you're describing two different problems that may require very different hires. One is development speed. The other is making sure the architecture, security and reliability of what you've already built can support the business as it grows. Another AI subscription might help with the first. It won't necessarily solve the second. Before hiring, I would identify which constraint actually matters most to the business right now. If you're losing time because features take too long to ship, measure that bottleneck. If the bigger risk is that nobody has independently reviewed the architecture, testing or security, that points toward a different skill set. Your proposed three-month contract could be a useful way to test this, but I would define specific outcomes upfront rather than simply measuring how much code gets produced. For example: an independent architecture review, automated tests around critical workflows, documented security risks and a measurable reduction in recurring technical issues. Then compare the full cost of that engagement against the risk or development bottleneck it actually removes. One financial consideration: since a full-time position depends on a future seed round, keep the initial engagement valuable on its own. The company should still benefit if fundraising takes longer than expected. The strongest first hire may not be the person who produces the most code, but the person who removes the most important constraint on the business.

  4. Comment

You're mixing two jobs. An intern can take bounded tickets off your plate, but they aren't the person to tell you whether the current system is safe to scale. I'd spend the first money on a short, fixed-scope review by a senior engineer. Don't ask for a vague 'architecture audit.' Ask them to restore a backup, trace one feature from request to production, review auth and permissions, identify the failure modes that could lose data or expose customers, and turn that into a ranked 90-day plan with rough effort. That review should tell you what to hire for. If the bottleneck is mostly implementation volume, a junior contractor with tight review could help. If it is security, architecture, or operations, you need someone senior enough to disagree with both you and Claude. Another Max subscription will produce more code, but it won't give anyone responsibility for the outcome.

Un stagiaire de 3 mois va pas revoir ton architecture, il va découvrir git. Le problème de robustesse que tu décris, c'est un profil senior, pas un contrat qui finit avant la fin de l'audit.
