Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

im trying to build a lifestyle business now with just my cofounder, any advice? is it much more likely to "succeed" this way? "success" to us is currently 5-7k MRR with 75%+ Margins, for our age and where were based out of, its good money..

I dont trust close-minded people to succeed... but one can be open minded yet not strong enough to go through the process alone. That said I don't really disagree with you, your points are all valid - Equity isn't pocket change. Don't dilute if you don't have to. Don't raise if you don't have to. Don't share if you don't have to. 100% I had four successful exits over 30 years and couldn't have done it without my cofounders. I also have about 20 friends or so who had great exits and only a handful were solos. Most solos around me struggle to go past $500K/yr.

Yeah, but do you trust close-minded people to be able to work in a team with a cofounder ? I don't. So, to get where I am now, I would have had to give away, let's say 30% of my company, just to get a cofounder ? More ? That's worth millions now. All that for a "good dynamic" ? Like, are you guys for real ? Equity isn't pocket change. Don't dilute if you don't have to. Don't raise if you don't have to. Don't share if you don't have to. It's getting ridiculous with all these advices. The YC mentality has indeed done so much damage to the entrepreneurs around the world, it's crazy.

It's not about equity, it's about the relationship dynamic. It's about the level of engagement. You are right that having a cofounder also come with risks. But remember, we're talking building >$1M businesses. From my experience it is easier solo for a small lifestyle business, but if you want to grow big, the odds are better with help. Also keep in mind that the people we coach are open minding enough to be coached. That already puts them above the vast majority.

The opposition is not solo-founder vs cofounders. The opposition is solo vs team. Having equity in the company is not required to have someone working for you in areas you are not versed into. Listening to someone without equity is fully possible. I truly wonder where this obsession on equity comes from. If an entrepreneur cannot take criticism or doesn't trust his team, he cannot trust a cofounder as well. Equity or not. It feels so silly. We value giving away equity so much these days, it makes me wonder if a company has any worth anymore, since anyone is so keen on dismantling it piece by piece before it is even born for no real good reason. Source : solo founder, successfully bootstrapped, got advice from tons of people for free without giving away equity, and my team work in areas that are not mine daily without any comment on my side.
