Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Effort without output is worthless to the business. If you already agreed that you need to bring in another developer, what value is he bringing, exactly? Plus, he's already proven that he will actively sabotage the business, so that another indicator that he's not invested in the business financially, emotionally, or intellectually. If I were you, I'd give him a take-it-or-leave-it deal, maybe 5% with no involvement going forward. If he doesn't take it, then I might offer to buy him out. Your company can't be too highly valued, so that might be an option. What did your investor give for you company valuation? If that doesn't work, I would probably take the code I wrote, shut down the business, and talk with the investor separately to see about a path going forward. Bottom line is I wouldn't work with this "friend" any more. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Web-based SaaS apps have a lot of advantages for the developer... easy to upgrade, no worries about OS compatibility (because you run in a browser), facilitates a subscription revenue model. What are the downsides? Well, if you're going to be storing data for your customers, you have to decide whether you'll be single- or multi-tenant. Again, multi-tenant makes updates easy, but the challenges are no longer just technical, e.g., GPDR in the EU. Plus, running a web app that is successful means you have to design for scalability, while a desktop app relies on the customer's computer to have the minimum required memory, graphics, processor, GPU, storage, OS, etc. Offline mobile software is still a valuable niche, as is desktop software for specific applications, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, etc., where people don't want to be dependent on having internet access to work. I always install the desktop version of MS Office on my laptops so I can work wherever I am. I have an offline GPS mapping/navigation device for cross-country and back country trips. All in all, it's very hard to sell desktop apps today unless they are very specialized, e.g., domain-specific application and control software for medical devices. Even so, the world is moving more and more to the cloud. BTW, you can always run a cloud-based SaaS app on an enterprise's private cloud, if they're willing to pay for it.

I will not promote - What have been your biggest challenges working with overseas talent? - **I’m curious to hear from founders, business owners and managers who have hired developers or other professionals overseas. What were the biggest difficulties you faced when hiring and working with them? What helped make the relationship successful, and what issues caused you to end a contract with them? Looking back, what would you do differently next time?**

He's the popular example but also a developer who was making solo money before AI. I used to follow a few solos pre-ai but they eventually all staff up, reach is king in this era so anyone making content worth following online won't be a solo for long.

But you're here talking as if you're teaching something technical to others without you understanding anything technical yourself. You just played around with things until you without any understandings simply stopped fearing certain things. And it's all completely irrational. It's you that initially feared what basically is just a simple installation, you put the thing you feared somewhere else, and from that you're now telling people that "You dont need to be a developer.". How do you make that add up? Edit: >My entire SEO. This one still makes me laugh. I used to consider paying an agency 4k a month for my agency's own SEO, and honestly they'd have been mediocre. Now an agent does the whole thing end to end. It researches the keywords, writes the articles, and publishes them. I literally do nothing. It just runs. This is you going from professionals to AI slop simply because you don't understand how the latter is long-term hurting your business. That's a result of you not understanding the technical and practical limitations of these AI models; how they're not as good as professionals. They're quicker, but they're behind the curve, and they're trained on the limited understanding that was publicly available to train on; not good professionals' work.
