   Alot of times there isnt a reason to hire a gamble. Now a days it takes more time for me to try to vet a resume or application than it does to either have a quick conversation or plausible expectations based on the history claim. I would prefer seeing how they work for a month and then decide but even risking placing a new guy into roles without proper onboarding or seperation in place which often would result in a employee requirement which i dont want to have to pay the taxes on year one. But cant do that so... "founder" is sweat equity which comes with a nda which...blah blah. My point being in 2026 unless you are opensource or already reoccurring revenue there isnt a massive reason to take on new staff pre funding and if you are incorporated you cant have free labor, least not in america. Founders in 2026 are typically vibe coding gamblers with enough time or experience to give "start ups" to make/ break/vibecode them. Ergo why equity is offered. And in scenarios wherein salary and equity are offered its as a uplift to the company which is a gamble in most cases. One a company can afford if they have funding. Which most dont have as you said We had to build a internal code problem assessor that uses our internal ide + ai to dynamically interview applicants and compiles a report after during which the system watches their webcam for cv and engages vocally, while also using ocr. That combination isnt like state of the art but its beyond a basic "can you code bro" as it test the produced results in a simulated version of itself. Just so that we had a level of proof someone didnt just use claude to pretend they could do the job.

   An NDA is completely pointless if you don't have the funds to back litigation, and the NDA you've generated on whichever AI you're using will almost certainly be wrong. Trying to get someone to sign an NDA for an idea generally signals immaturity. Source - I'm an accountant who works with startups. Every so often one will try and get me to sign an NDA before a call. None of their businesses ever go anywhere.
