Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Favorite startup podcast? *I will not promote - I’m challenging myself to listen to a podcast at the gym instead of just listening to music for an hour each day. Looking for some good podcast recommendations around startups, VC, AI, or other business strategies. I’ll go first. I really like Startups for the Rest of Us and Revenue Builders.

> Then you’re being purposefully obtuse. Any sourced capital expects a return, unless its charity. Any business that takes money should expect to yield a result. Most VCs don't expect a return. They expect most of the startups they invest in to fail and hope that at least one breakout company covers their losses on all the failed investments. This is why you see VC investments into companies that have very shaky business models. A lot of them are hail mary plays.

Thank you… I will because I clearly said startups and the fact that you don’t know the nuance between a new business and a startup is why you should bow out of this…. A new business may already think they have a business model they are executing on… this is common in franchise and brick and mortar businesses… a startup is unique because by definition it is built to experiment and search for a business model to execute on…. Don’t pretend like you are somehow intellectually above this because you’re out of your depths….

Dude. You said startups. If you mean a subset of startups, that's on you for badly defining the opening statement. Businesses are businesses. And official numbers of businesses opening and closing are not an opinion. I care too little about this to keep it up. Please feel free to have the last word

Survivorship bias. Do you think SBA numbers include the startups that failed in the first month? The ones that never got any revenue? Or the ones that invested but never made it to market? There’s a certain threshold you have to cross before you are figured into those numbers.
