   spent the night ASTRONOMYMAXXING 💪 (forgive me for poor image quality lol) - in spite of the homework assignments i have due tomorrow, i decided to goob around with my telescope tonight. i had a lot of fun, even if the images i was able to take by finessing my iphone through the lens indicates the contrary 😭 i was looking forward to sighting saturn, my #1 favorite planet, (yes, more than earth. cope.) but I ended up starting a bit too early. so, because venus was literally shining a spotlight on me, i sighted that first. and the neat part, and one i desparately hoped i captured with my phone, was that it had phases!!! ive never seen a planet with phases before!!!! it appeared to be a crescent, although i dont know off the top of my head whether it was waxing or waning. then, because i still had time to kill, i chose to look at the constellation scorpius, next! there, i found antares, a red supergiant and the brightest star in that constellation. around that time, at long last, it rose above the horizon: SATURN! even without the witchcraft apple is doing to give me the crunchiest photo possible, the atmospheric distortion made saturn a little difficult to see: but i could still definitely make out its color, and especially the rings! that was my favorite part. \^\^ and, just for a victory lap, i turned it towards the moon. i havent had good experiences with capturing the moon on my phone before, so i was extremely surprised to find out that my phone takes exponentially better pictures of the moon through my telescope rather than by itself. the day the world adopts astronomymaxxing is the day the world will finally know peace
