   (as i got mentionned, i'll add something i forgot in my comment : tenessee still got the lgbt scare defense allowed. that is why the person being lgbt is important : there, the law still treat a trans woman differently. and that's where most people got the aquittal-scare thing wrong : in tenessee, if you say " i got scared of the trans woman", you can essentially say you went temporarily insane, and thus, aren't responsible. it is a legal line of defense. or, like they'll likely do here, you could say you got so scared of their advances that you had to defend yourself, thus, the killing was in self-defense. it is allowed, in tenesse, to consider a lgbt person existing next to you as a threat. thus, killing them ( with a few other conditions, let's be reasonnable in their madness) In reality, it shouldn't change much of the verdict, based on the fact the killer lied about the victim having a gun, and the fact they had been in a relashionship for two years. if there wasn't a prior relashionship ( thus invalidating the "advances threat"), it would have been a coin toss based on the jury, but it theorically could still be, thus, a retrial. also, it might be a hate crime, thus, retrial.

   The victim was the dude that got raped, not the rapist that was killed as a result of the rape. Get your facts straight
