It’s not just about tangible products but mainly about lack of income. Most of AI right now is a promise, not an actual way to make money. This is very similar to the dotcom bubble, where initial enthusiasm was far higher than actual growth of income. Of course today companies like Amazon really do bring results, but they needed two decades for it to turn into established sources of revenue.

Just so I’m clear: OP are you saying a stock that’s run up about 1,000% in a year has so little downside risk that you’d put 100% of your money into it?? Wow. I remember a lot of people with similar thoughts about AOL, Yahoo, Cisco, Intel, Webvan, Priceline, Amazon and the like in the year 2000. Best of luck.

Imagine calling someone a moron while having zero clue how cloud commitments work. Amazon gives them cash with a contractual gun to their head to spend it on AWS, and smoothbrains like you think that’s organic revenue. Go back to paper trading

Super interesting display here. I’ve been lucky. Bought into nvda in 2020 and have held Apple, Amazon, and Google since 2010 ish. Held Berkshire for years and this confirms the lag it feels like I’m getting. Sold Tesla in 21 after buying in 2012. I missed most of the other winners here except for QQQ. I had been trying to sell some of these winners to diversify, but the things I’ve diversified into have lagged significantly. I assume someday I’ll be happy with this outcome as AI comes back to earth. Or maybe not. Either way- I won!
