Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Conventional wisdom says MSFT will dump on earnings because that’s what Goog did with largely same CapEx posture. However, if we assume this shit is rigged, will MSFT have historic blowout if they can show they are already converting CapEx into $$$?

  2. Comment

Yeah I have no complaints about AAPL skyrocketing cuz just bought some after they announced the price raise. I think, tho, the problem with CAPEX is not that they they are not seeing ROI. At least for all the hyperscalers their cloud business is booming and demand already exceeds supply, hence the spending on data centers justifies. The problem is that whether this mode will be consistent(or more technically, when do we claim that AI is the Lord of the world), and the market is always afraid of dotcom thing coming again, so stocks like MSFT and GOOG takes hit at different times. I honestly have no clue how this AI thing will continue, but AAPL is involuntarily benefiting from this is what I'm saying.

  3. Comment

ai is transformational and will generate massive revenue and profits over the long run, but the current infrastructure boom is getting ahead of demand, as often happens when a transformational technology arrives. once the excess capacity is absorbed and intelligence becomes cheap and widely available, the real value will shift from building the infrastructure to creating entirely new products on top of it. the biggest winner is most likely to be a company that uses cheap, abundant intelligence to create something ordinary people end up using every day, something we cannot clearly describe yet, just as the biggest internet winners (goog, amzn, meta, aapl) were not obvious during the original infrastructure buildout.

  4. Comment

Both are going to drop. Actually, count on MSFT to drop unless they mentioned a decrease in capex. MSFT will beat like GOOG, but announce an increase in capex and shares will drop. Safest trade? Short MSFT after CEO announces capex increase. For META, it's always been a wild card rallying one quarter and then taking a dump the next. MSFT to $350 by end of week.

I added more Goog post-earnings at \~$316, so I wish you the best!
