They filed for 6k new just last year, and that was a local minima. You misunderstood - They submitted over 20k in the last three years, which is the size of indias total workforce for all positions include sales and tech support. The number isn’t public, but include h1bs and green card holders and you would be amazed. I would estimate over 50% for IC SWE, although I could always be wrong.

Bruh. Most of the sources are from Nasa. I mean if you can name another company where I can walk into their offices and say, "Hey, I need "x" amount of launches, and since I know you can re-land your boosters, I want to get a better price here than say in India or China." At its core, its just communications and data infrastructure, the scifi part is really the Helium-3, but the rest come on bro its alrealy implemented for yearrrs just not with processing.

the latter. It has been happening for years. Companies setting up satellite offices in India and lower labor cost European countries and performing core operations, not just back office / IT support.

Thing is, those roles will no longer exist in America. It will all be outsourced. So even if you want that role in the future, it won’t exist unless you take a subcontractor role out in India making $6/hr for a basic analyst role.
