Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Generally, Canadians are limiting unnecessary travel to the US. Personally, I used to go at least once every year if not multiple times, and haven't been since, oh, let's say January 20, 2025.Vegas tourism has been down all year due to Canadians and EU citizens avoiding the US.

Canada is hurting right now. More than 70% of their trade exports go to the US, that is, until recently.

US is funding all sides of the Israel, Iran, Ukraine, Russia wars 🤔

You're completely correct on the sell side of the bond market. Everyone absolutely needs the rates to come down otherwise the western govts can't afford to keep doing what they've been doing largely since ww2. However id argue that you're missing the issue with the buy side. The previous reliable buyers the world over - the pension funds, the sovereign wealth funds, and everything else that showed up and bought the bonds largely at any price because they needed the bond coupon and didn't care about the overall cost is dead now. Replaced by the 401k or other instruments. Don't forget there are more sellers than have ever existed in the bond market, the US, most of Europe, and all the ai hyperscalers all holding out their offerings to the same shrinking pile of buyers. Nobody on the sell side can move their volume or risk enough to collapse the rates that the systems so desperately need. PE/private markets collapse is probably the only meaningful change that I can see on the near horizon that will send some buyers back to the bond market, but that likely is only a drop in the bucket compared to what's needed to move that enormous market. The bond market isn't reverting to the mean, it's a two sided market and buyers left while the sellers grew completely lopsided. Upro/tmf bogleheads and chill

Wouldn’t matter, they’ll go elsewhere and still affect commodity prices by reducing demand on the chips that the US can still buy. Especially since the US only accounts for less than a quarter of global dram demand.
