See, this is what frustrates me. I understand you're trying to help but I have no clue what TTL is. And I'm trying to avoid doing anything with .htaccess. I'd rather use a plugin like Redirection that helps me sort this out. I am an absolute beginner. I don't even know you can you 'test' redirects since the old site is still running. I barely comprehend what that means. Sorry.

Shopify or Squarespace beats hand coding as a beginner, save the dev learning for a lower-pressure project.

a beginner this is actually a good start. i'd mainly work on the spacing and alignment next, especially the product cards and the top search/header area. small cleanup there would make it look a lot more polished.

if the goal is to sell pottery, use Shopify and spend your time on photos and product pages instead of hand-rolling ecommerce, because payments and inventory are where beginner projects go to die
