Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

No I bill per hour. I have more work than I can do, and backlogs are bad for business. I try to get things done, and move onto the next thing. Speed and effencent work is how I do my job. In terms of the mess I make, usually im coming in after some slacker employees dragged their feet on a project that should have been easy, or building out Rube Goldberg solutions as a weird way of ensuring they have job security.

On average maybe 20,000-30,000 items added to the queue an hour, then at certain points of the month we might have 2,500,000 added in an hour.

  3. Comment

Two failure modes worth naming on top of the daily-uniques limit, because they push in opposite directions. IPv6 privacy extensions (RFC 4941) rotate the interface identifier on a schedule - sometimes hourly - so one phone can hash into several 'uniques' in a single day. CGNAT is the reverse: a whole subscriber pool collapses into one visitor, as noted above. A partial fix that also handles the midnight-UTC split: keep a rolling window of hour salts (the last ~25) and resolve the ID with the salt of the hour the session started in, instead of bucketing by UTC day. You pay one extra lookup and weaken the 'old salts are gone' guarantee from 24 to 25 hours - worth stating explicitly if you advertise that property.

  4. Comment

Put a hard cap on included revision rounds. Include a small number of design passes and one build pass, then bill further art-direction changes hourly. The artwork is where a management team will churn, not the frontend; the build is mostly done once, but reworking a storefront or swapping sticker assets will eat fixed-price work. Spell out what counts as a revision too. A new illustration or a reworked character is a separate charge, not a tweak. For upkeep, set an hour cap and a monthly expiry, otherwise it becomes ongoing free art edits.

  5. Comment

You already handed over a finished build before anyone agreed on a number, so the rate card is your only leverage and it's thinner than it was a week ago. Also the ask came from her management team, not her, and "basic upkeep" could be an hour a month or a rebuild every drop. Get that in hours before you quote anything.
