Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Ugh got me last year too. LCP was stuck around 4s and I blamed everything except the icon font

Interviewed at 2 big tech companies last year for entry level roles. Both were 8-9 rounds.

So I have been both a UI / UX designer and frontend developer for around 25 years, initially starting off doing freelance stuff and personal projects but evolving into senior / lead level in 3 separate fields. My most recent job I spent 6 years at a startup going from software engineer to senior software engineer to creative lead covering all the visual design, UI, UX and frontend dev, as well as overseeing the agency work we had for marketing. The company rebranded last year, which myself and external agencies worked together on and produced a highly effective brand and redesign of the UI, leading to a 150% uptick in sales over a six month period post launch. Then, suddenly and without warning myself and the entire marketing team were made redundant, and now the company's socials are filled with AI. During the final stint of my work there, the tech lead has been leveraging Claude more and more, so my assumption is they convinced the company that they could just dump all the assets and branding guidelines into Claude to produce their marketing materials instead of paying for staff and agencies. And now I'm in the situation where the number of jobs available is shrinking rapidly, freelance work is almost nonexistent and my 25 years of experience in both design and development are being seen as less valuable than being able to prompt.

it's not weird at all, raw css is totally fine for small stuff. once you understand specificity and the cascade it actually becomes pretty predictable, most of the "css is a nightmare" complaints come from people who never sat down to learn it properly i did a whole freelance project last year with zero frameworks, just a reset and custom properties. client was happy and the codebase is still clean enough that i can jump back in without crying the real mess starts when you're in a team with 8 other devs all writing css their own way, that's when something like tailwind or bem naming saves your sanity

because last year AI slop was causing architectural problems, but as AI gets consistently better these problems are slowly removed and what remains is our old idea of what was possible last year and thus the bias continues to exist
