Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

hmm ... 4-6 interviews for what is a *realistic* salary for a mid-level software developer jobs in Europe (€40-80k/year) has been the norm for at least a decade.

  2. Comment

Depends on the role. Highly independent $300k+ fairly senior leadership role? You can be bothered to put up with a couple extra interviews and you _want_ to add as many chances as possible to get a positive signal. 5-7 interviews is pretty common and works out in everyone's favor. Mid-level $80k role that boils down to chugging through fairly routine stuff all the time and the skill set calls for maybe a technical and maybe a behavioral? Absolutely not. I see a lot of companies that think they're the first and act like it even though they're hiring for the second. Avoid.

In the UK, freelance rates usually sit around £30 to £50 an hour for mid level, £60 to £90 for experienced, and £100+ for specialists, with day rates roughly £250 to £700. Agencies typically charge two to three times those figures, and London adds a premium on top. Most freelancers quote fixed price per project instead: a simple brochure site runs £1.5k to £4k, ecommerce or custom builds £5k to £15k, and web apps £20k+. The number depends far more on scope and who you hire than on any national average.

i''d go with an advanced sql or .net performance course on udemy. at mid level, deepening what you already use is more useful than another full stack cert. which part of your stack gives you the most trouble right now??

My team just hired two juniors. We had the budget for two mid levels but we decided to get juniors instead because the team was starting to lean too senior which isn't good for a bunch of reasons. Mostly it makes it impossible for mid levels and seniors to grow if there's no room because the big projects are handled by the best seniors. And if you're not growing your people they will eventually leave or drag the team down.
