   $18,000 plus honeymoon. In 2009. About 80 guests. Wine and beer flowing freely. Dancing all night. It’s a good memory. The wine and beer should have been a clue. He died of alcoholism and suicide in 2024. Entered my 30s as a mom, exited them as a widow. You never know what life is going to hand you.

   I used to have a military type job and I loved the adventure and all the different countries I saw. The ones I went to for work, wasn't all that nice, but I made good money and when you're single, you have less expenses, so I traveled to nice counties all the time. Back then, I thought I'd be killed before I got to 35/40, so I was living life. When I got to 30, I felt like I had done all the crazy shit I ever wanted to do and just doing those things again, didn't make me happier. I had purpose, but I didn't have happiness. I found some happiness with a woman, but still I wanted more. At 34, I became a father. I am now immortal. I have a lineage and I am happier than I have ever been. What's the meaning of life?...... procreation. I thought I wanted to stay single and childless.

   I got my associates because I didn’t know what I wanted to do. Then I went back at 27, got my bachelors at 30 and masters at 32. I make almost 200k a year now. I don’t think you need to go to college, especially if you have no idea what you want to get out of it.

   I am not 40 yet, actually will be 30 this yr. I’m noticing I enjoy being alone. I am on the fence but leaning towards no kids. I don’t enjoy people in my space. Constantly working for someone else during my off time. Not being able to rest etc. If I’d had a great childhood myself maybe but I didn’t. It was stressful, strict, religious and it took so much hard work to even reach where I am now personally and financially. I can see myself losing a big chunk of financial freedom with one or two kids. I’m currently taking a bit of a break and have enough money to relax for a few weeks. I’m being selective with the job search. But if I had kids this wouldn’t be possible without a very rich spouse or family money. I can also downsize my living situation without bothering about anyone. I moved to a new city and can live in a shared flat till a better place is available. With kids this wouldn’t be possible. I’d have to make sure they have space. Finally, I made a career change into teaching and there isn’t enough space here to talk about modern parenting and its failures. Most children are badly behaved and taught to sort of play victim by their parents if they don’t get their way now. I can’t see myself being comfortable with a child speaking to me that way or behaving that disrespectfully. So yeah the disrespect is something I don’t know if I want. I’ve clearly spent a lot of times talking to myself about this.
