   Don’t know anyone in my friends / family group that got divorced who are millennials, yet. But all are in a marriage for at least several years to decade or more. The only divorce I know is my friend’s ex-friend (not my friend). I don’t know if that counts. But that girl was some crazy work (just from first time meeting impression, and then several years later after 2 kids, she is divorced).

   My husband and I are both elder millennial and this is our second marriage each. Honestly I think we work better because we have both been divorced and learned a lot of good lessons with the first marriage. I felt some sort of way being divorced at 25yo but it was 100% for the best and I'm eternally grateful not to be married to the abusive fuck who was 30yo and married a 19yo. There were so many red flags flapping that idk how I saw anything else at the time.

   I never had a “bedtime” growing up, but we had to be quiet after someone (typically my mom) went to bed. This meant that you could either camp out in the basement watching tv in the dark with all the spooky boilers and pipes and whatnot or just go to bed too. We were required to say goodnight to anyone still up before going to bed and I have maintained that habit through college, marriage and my own family. My kids do not have much of a routine either unfortunately, but we have some pieces. We all say goodnight to each other and then each kid goes to their room with their requested parent where we will read books (more books with earlier bedtime and fewer books with later ones) and stay with them until they fall asleep. It is not convenient and impossible with just adult, but I’m going to soak in as much of that sleepy time as possible!
