We made a profit on our wedding. I bought my dress off the rack, we didn't get engaged so just had one ring that was $375 and his was $40, pictures just on an iPhone, paid for an updo hairstyle but did my own basic make up, only had our parents and an officiant in a backyard ceremony, parents hosted a house gathering a few days later for family who all gave us money despite us saying no gifts, and we are married years. Focus was on our life together not on one day.

Maybe about $5K altogether. We got married during Covid so it was a backyard wedding with just the parents, siblings, and officiant and then an other very small ceremony at our church.
