Not wanting to go is always a legitimate reason. However, it can also be good to reconnect with people (as long as you don't hate them). Of course it is ok not to go, but to be honest, this sounds more like depression. Why would an element of surprise be something bad? Could be a pleasant surprise. Maybe get in touch with someone you knew well or liked before you go and check, if you they would go. In a sense, you wouldn't have to "go alone". I was pleasantly surprised by my reunion. A lot of people grew up and you could talk to then like adults, some others did not change at all. Don't be afraid that everyone else would be more "succesful".

I was bullied in high school and didn't have many for friends so I wouldn't go to a reunion regardless TBH. But yes. You can not go to a reunion for any reason you want.

I’m genuinely surprised anybody in our age group is even doing reunions. With social media if you really wanted to keep in touch you could.
